San José de Chiquitos lived the women’s week

In San José de Chiquitos, on March 8, International Women’s Day was commemorated with a week of intense activities called “Women’s Week”, planned and promoted by the Inter-institutional Network to Fight Violence Against Women and HIV / AIDS. with the purpose of sensitizing and mobilizing the entire population of the municipality about reducing the rates of violence against women.

On Monday, March 6, the students and teachers of the educational units of the secondary level were the protagonists, where each of them, through their own pedagogy and methodology, told the other students the story of why on March 8 the International day is remembered of the woman.

Tuesday 7, a Cinema-Forum aimed at the general public was held with the projection of the film “Jinete de Ballenas” in the assembly hall of the Municipal Government, where interesting analyzes of how the role and participation of women and how culture and family influence their participation.

In compliance with Art. 25 in Law 348 “Law to Guarantee Women a Life Free of Violence”, on Wednesday March 8, the infrastructure was inaugurated (former San José de Chiquitos subsidiary Red Cross) where the Municipal Directorate of Gender and will provide the temporary shelter service to women who are at risk of violence, as part of the gender policies of the school municipality.

On Thursday, March 9, students and teachers of fifth and sixth grade of the educational units of the urban area of San José de Chiquitos, along with their student tambourines, marched dressed in white with banners with messages against violence against women . At the end of the march, a contest was developed where the qualifying jury selected the three best banners with the best message against violence against women.

On Friday, March 10, an hour of “Zumba for a Healthy Life” was organized, which was held in the Padre Felipe Suárez Main Square, with the aim of promoting a healthy life in Josesan women; Free Zumba classes were given and at the end of the activity prizes were raffled for the attendees.

A permanent campaign from March 06 to 10, was the one for the prevention of Uterine Cervical Cancer called “I can, I want and I have Wings”. During the campaign free studies were carried out to detect early and prevent any health complications of the woman; This campaign was carried out at the Bernardino Gil Julio Municipal Hospital.

• 5 Educational Units of the secondary level of the urban area participated in civic events and marches to prevent violence against women.

• 500 5th and 6th grade students marched through the main streets against violence against women.
